For this weeks project i think ill have a higher focus on scanning as i cant really 3D print anything at this time. To explain 3D scanning its the analyses of objects in the real-world collectIng data on Their shape and appearance. The data is then used to construct digital digital 3D model.

3D Scanning – Scanning Apps Used

Capture: 3D – uses the TrueDepth sensors on X-series iPhones to make crude 3D models of small objects.

To get a sense of the app I tested it on my face and crude is also the word I would use for how it turned out. The mesh wasn’t fully complete and the light doubled making the model look crap.

TRNIO – different to capture this app converts photos into 3D models. Using the app was quite easy as I circled the a object until complete trying not to overlap with the paths as interacted with line on the app.

Attempt 1: Bust Scan

Attempt 1 didn’t turn out to great, face was flat and sections were missing. I  assume this was because I didn’t get enough photos on those sections or there was some glair that effect effected the construction of the model.

Attempt 2: floor scan……

Attempt 2 was worse. I assume i was due to me putting the bust on a checkered floor.
