Seeing how this week is the formative il’l be checking out my website and others to see what improvements i can make. as i look at other websites ill note the things that i think are good and i have missed also anything i believe is laking and would be useful if included to there website as well as my own.
Other websites
1st website i checked was Christy’s as he is the 1st disciple when it comes to my fellow students. his website currently uses the same theme as me but his page looks reality more attractive as he has a simple background and includes images on the front of some posts.
This is something I wish to mimc on the first appearance of my own page.
Like others such as Max he’s also included past projects such as DP402 which i’m not sure on including as i think it cultures the menu and adds a level of confusion when i want the focus to be in this projects digital fabrication.
Most other student have also included embedded videos which are very useful in showing the process of making and the outcomes of each project this is another thing i believe i should include in my own website but i must be quite particular about them as they might be unnecessarily long or short as well as unnecessary to begin with, replacing simple photos or gifs that would have given the same experience in a simpler package.
My Website
I checked through the weeks on student central to see if I’ve covered each projects contents as well as seeing if theres areas where i should add more too because of there interest.
Now some areas which i missed was more CAD, i think i should have gone in and experiment with other softwares such as blenders.
Computer controlled cutting could also use a different form of cutting included such as a vinyl cutting and maybe including a video on the assembling of the Dice.
Looking carefully at my own website i noticed an immediate change what i wanted to add was linking posts and pages from one to the other to improve on website navigation. The easiest way to do this is with a link or other method that takes you from page to post and visa versa.
