My research began at the Saatchi Gallery in London, where the exhibition ‘Champagne Life’ was occuring. These were the main attractions of the exhibition for me. The first image is an oil installation called 50/50 by Richard Wilson. The last two images were part of the Champagne Life exhibition, by Julia Dault.
This American Apparel zine created by Sean Travis inspired me with the layout and design for one of the spreads in my zines. I like the simplicity of the design and also the use of colours.

This was an experiment I did to play around with line thicknesses, layout and use of colour. I decided to go for red as it is a colour that connotes love, sex and also anger; which I think is a great way to portray sex addiction.
I did this shoot with the inspiration of the Red Light District. My aim was to try and portray my model as a prostitute, doing every day rituals. This relates to sex addiction, as most sex addicts have to result to going to prostitutes, as for anyone that isn’t living with the condition, wanting sex 24/7 is abnormal.

I chose this as my title because “le petit mort” is the direct translation to “little death” in French, however is it also the modern term used for “orgasm”. I thought this would work perfectly because it is a great way to portray sex addiction, as it is sex which is good, but it is also dark and horrific, like death. To create this, I scanned in the drawing I previously did in my sketchbook, and traced it in Illustrator.

Point Zero Studio
These examples I found of fashion fanzines, inspire me with my own work. The simplicity of the artwork is effective and I will also keep my zine simple and minimalistic. I also like the use of colour block in the ‘Point Zero Studio’ examples.
