Our Fixpartner, Jack he is working in the Hove lagoon with his dog Indi. He has a serious problem with the safety boat what they use every time when they go to surf on the sea. He needs 7 or 8 people to put the boat on the water without scratching the bottom of the safety boat. The beach is full of gravel between the road and the water this distance is around 20 meter and it’s really hard to pull through the boat on this part because the wheels sink into the gravels and stop it, so they have to carry right up to the water. Our project is to make a product which helps Jack to put the boat on the water with maximum 2 or 3 people without any problem.
Our first step was to make an interview with Jack and record his problem, we did the same process to put the boat on the water in order to make our observation.
The next step was to make prototypes about the beach and the trailer and test it. Everything was fine till the COVID-19 hits his head which resulted that I had to move home to Hungary, the further work was a bit difficult like this with a big distance between us and my group. Fortunately, we can continue the work remotely and keep in touch with our tutors during the pandemic.
We made a 3 min film which is contains:
- an introduction of our Fixpartner (Jack)
- A clearly articulated problem statement
- Exploration of possible solutions
- prototyping and testing process
- improvements
- our prototype in action
