“Peer support involves people sharing knowledge, experience and practical help with each other… (it) can take many forms, such as informal telephone calls, group get-togethers, online forums or structured training offered by paid peers in partnership with professionals (Nesta and National Voices, 2015, p 1). Peer support is about people with shared ‘lived experiences’ supporting each other as equals across impairments or situations of need.

The Sussex Peer Support Network is comprised of organisations and individuals providing peer support both formally and informally for the purpose of advocacy, signposting and knowledge sharing.
