Originally from Skibereen in County Cork, Ireland, Thomas John Sheehan, also known as Donald T. Sheehan, was a shop assistant in Brighton and a member of the Communist Party. He joined the International Brigades on 21st February 1938 and John disappeared during the Great Retreats, presumed killed, in March 1938 age 34 on the Aragon Front.
