Free bike maintenance

Could your bike do with a bit of a health check? The university’s sustainability campaign, c-change, have some events coming up to help you look after your bike better, and promote more sustainable travel. Have a look at what’s coming up near you to see how you can get involved!

Free bike maintenance training Wednesday 1 February at Falmer Campus

Would you like to know how to keep your bike in tip top condition? Then this free bicycle maintenance training coming up at Grand Parade is for you!

What? This free two hour training course will increase your basic cycle maintenance skills and you will learn how to complete safety checks, adjust brakes and gears, remove wheels and fix punctures, as well as how to clean and lubricate your bike. You will be required to bring along your own bike.

Where? Students’ Union, Ringmer House, Falmer Campus.

When? Wednesday 1 March 2017, 12 – 2pm

Book your place: There are 6 places available on this course. Reserve your place by emailing c-change team via c-change@brighton.ac.uk with your name and a contact telephone number. Places will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.

Free bike maintenance check on your campus

Is your bike in need of a bit of TLC? Free bike maintenance checks are being provided by Southover cycles across the halls of residence this week between 12-3pm at the following locations:

  • Tuesday 21 February – outside Checkland Building
  • Wednesday 22 February – outside Cockcroft main entrance
  • Thursday 23 February – outside Mithras House main entrance
  • Friday 24 February – the quad at Grand Parade main building

So just bring your bike along for a free check!
