My Brighton new design and improvements coming 28 July 2023
We’re making some changes to the student portal and app, My Brighton this Friday 28 July, from 2pm.
There’ll be some refreshing new colours, a revised Home dashboard and the navigation has been improved.
Revised navigation menu
We’ve improved the experience where the left-hand menu has been updated for your main route to access all the ‘dashboards’. If using a mobile device, access the menu through the ‘burger’ ≡ menu at the top left of the screen.
The Studies dashboard is still home to My Studies, your online learning app to view all your coursework etc. Although we’ve removed the tile from the Home dashboard, you can still access it from the left-hand menu and have added My Studies as a new menu option so it’s just one-click away.
We’ve also added the Support icon to the mobile app menu at the bottom of the screen where you can still access your email, timetable and Studies dashboard direct.
New Home dashboard
Below the new promotional banner, calendar and email displays, we’ve combined the important Announcements with the on-campus Events listing into one feed. We’ve also added the Blogs feed so you don’t miss out on any important updates from our student finance team, careers and employability and other posts around university life.
New colours and tiles
Perhaps the most noticeable change is the new design which comprises of new fresh colours and easy to read labelling. Based on previous student feedback, we hope this update will make finding the service you need quicker.
New Postgraduate Research (PGR) dashboard
Viewable only to our research students, we’ve added a new dashboard so you can access the services important to you. As well as displaying the latest news from the Doctoral College, you can also access your academic school, the PhD Manager and the Pure research portal.
Changes applied on 28 July
We hope these changes will make your experience with the university app even better. We’ll be updating the app this Friday (28 July) from 2pm with an estimated completion time of 4:30pm. During this time, some users may experience some very minor functionality issues whilst changes are going through. As always, we welcome your feedback and suggestions to continue improving the app.
