Join the celebration of LGBTQ+ history month by taking part in our in person and virtual events.
Throughout February, we’ll be celebrating and remembering lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer history. These events provide the opportunity to reflect on the past and connect with the present, to ensure we are working together to build a safer and more inclusive future.
A guided tour of Brighton’s LGBTQ Spaces – Then, Now, Next 13 February 15.30 – 17.00, Old Steine Gardens
This 90 minute guided walk around central Brighton will be led by expert lecturers and researchers from the university and will introduce you to the oldest and the newest LGBTQ spaces in the city. Book your place and find out more.
Professor Rusi Jaspal – Identity: Its creation, growth and defence among gay and bisexual men,15 February 6.30pm, Room 103 and 104, Elm House
In his professorial inaugural lecture, Professor Rusi Jaspal will describe the major findings of his research into the creation, growth and defence of identity among gay and bisexual men.
Jude Guaitamacchi – Finding the beauty in being myself, Online event Wednesday 22 February, 1pm-2pm
Transgender, non-binary, model, activist and educator will be sharing their personal journey and discussing all things LGBTQIA+.
