Do you look after someone? Join us this Carers Rights Day

Carers Rights Day  (Friday 30 November) aims to help carers know their rights and find out how to get the help and support they are entitled to.

Students at the university who are carers can access a number of activities today:

‘Carers Hub’ drop-in

At our ‘Carers Hub’, a support worker from The Carers Centre is on hand to help with mini carers assessments and answer questions about your caring situation. Tea and cake will be provided. Please feel free to drop in for information and support.

Where and when: Mithras G5 (Moulsecoomb), 9.30am to 12.30pm.

Information stalls

Information stalls are being held throughout the week at Falmer and Moulsecoomb, with resources on how students with caring responsibilities can access the support they need.

The stalls are at the following university buildings:

  • Falmer campus – Monday 26 November to Friday 30 November (Falmer Library)
  • Moulsecoomb campus – Monday 26 November to Friday 30 November (Cockcroft Building, outside Aldrich library)

Staff from Brighton and Hove Carers Centre  are attending both stands on Carers’ Rights Day (Friday 30 November) from 1pm to 2pm.

For other useful information, please visit Carers Hub for Brighton and Hove.

Further support

For students who need a bit more help dealing with ongoing issues, you can access support from experienced staff in Student Services.
