Free online learning and skills development

Before you leave for the summer, we want to show you some valuable training resources that are free to you as a University of Brighton student, and for a limited time after you graduate. These high-quality video based tutorials on Lynda.com are excellent for plugging any skills gaps you may have, and helping you to prepare for life after university.

To access the following resources, you will need to log in with your normal university credentials.

Helping you prepare for what’s ahead
  • The Careers service have collated a playlist of videos for career planning including tips on writing CVs, building your online profile and standing out at interviews. Click here to check out the Careers Service playlist on Lynda.com.
  • Lynda Learning Paths are groups of courses with quizzes and practice sections that are carefully curated by experts to help you jump-start or transform your career. Find out more about Learning Paths here
  • Make sure you have the IT skills employers are looking for in your chosen field, whether that’s Microsoft Office, Adobe creative Cloud, AutoCAD, web design, programming or business skills. Have a look at these recommendations from Information Services and our teaching staff.

For each Lynda course you complete, you earn a Certificate of Completion to post to your LinkedIn profile, which can be a great opportunity to demonstrate your enthusiasm for professional development. For more information on using Lynda.com resources, see the following page from Information Services.
