University opening hours over the Christmas period

As we begin to wind down for the holidays, here are a summary of the university’s opening hours this festive period.

Closing times on 23 December

Buildings on all campuses will be closed by 5pm on 23 December, unless otherwise stated below:

Accommodation & Hospitality Services

• All restaurants and cafes on all campuses will close at 2pm
• Halls of Residence will continue to be staffed throughout the festive break.

Information Services 

• All libraries and computer rooms on all campuses will close at 1:30pm. Please note that self-service equipment and Library Help desks will close by 1:15pm.
• Reprographics close at 1:30pm – no new requests for printing or binding will be accepted after 1pm.

Sport and Recreation

• Cockcroft Gym will close at 5pm on 23 December and will reopen at 7:30am on 3 January 2017.
• Eastbourne Sports Facilities will close at 10:30pm on 23 December and will reopen at 7.30am on 3 January.

• Falmer Sports Hall will close at 5pm on 23 December and will reopen at 7:30am on 3 January.

Services available during the holiday period

Studentcentral will be available throughout the holiday period. You will continue to have access to the Online Library, e-Journals, eBooks and Talis Aspire reading lists from any computer or device with an internet connection (e.g. mobile phone or tablet).

It is expected that all Central IT services will be available over the Christmas period. However, there will be no staff support available until Tuesday 3 January 2017.

All buildings will reopen on Tuesday 3 January 2017. Have a great beak, we look forward to seeing you in the new year!
