Travel Smart for ‘Travel Week’

The University of Brighton’s annual c-change Travel Week starts Monday 10 October.

A sustainable travel c-change roadshow is to visit all campuses from Monday 10 to Friday 14 October, visiting one site each day. Drop by for information and advice on all things sustainable travel, as well as a chance to make yourself a free smoothie on the c-change smoothie bike!

The ‘Travel Week roadshow’ will be visiting a different site every day between 11am and 2pm for further details click here.

Free bike maintenance

Is your bike in need of a bit of TLC? Outside each of the Travel Week roadshows, free bike maintenance support will be given out to staff and students by local Bike Doctors.

Southern Rail consultation

Southern Rail are currently carrying out a consultation on proposed timetable changes, which include having fewer trains stopping at the Moulsecoomb station. As part of Travel Week, students and staff who may be affected by these proposals are being encouraged to submit a response to the consultation here.

Car-share & journey-planning platform launch

During Travel Week we’re launching a brand new car-sharing and journey-planning platform, Travel Smart: University of Brighton.

The website enables staff and students to find car-sharing and bike-sharing buddies, as well as public transport, cycling and walking routes.

You can also log sustainable transport journeys on the website, to keep track of how much carbon and money you’ve saved, and to enter into our sustainable travel challenges and win prizes!

Want to be in with a chance to win?

A range of prizes are up for grabs for the launch of the Travel Smart Platform:

  • 50 Fairtrade chocolate bars – for the first 50 people to register.
  • 10 x £25 unicard top-ups – entry into a prize draw for anyone who logs a sustainable travel journey to campus and back.
  • £100 Amazon voucher – entry into a prize draw for anyone who registers a car-sharing offer or request, and a second entry for anyone who sends us a pic of them with their new car-share buddy!
