Sports events – January 2015

Fancy taking up a new sport this January? Here’s a taster of what’s on offer across Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings.

Hastings

Archery – Sunday, 18 January

Try something new! Parklife ran a taster session last year and due to the popularity of it, they’re launching a two-hour session for students. Whether yoSPORT2u’re a complete beginner or looking to improve your existing skills, this is for you. Students will meet at the train station at 12:45pm to be taken to the location. Confirm your attendance on Facebook.

Price: £5 per person (includes travel from Hastings train station to location of session)

Table Tennis – Monday, 19 January

Compete against your mates and join the table tennis ladder at the Hastings Campus Priory Square building. Don’t worry if you miss the next session, there will be sessions every week until March 27.

Eastbourne

Basketball – Friday, 16 January

A weekly event every Friday, bring your friends along from 19:00 until 20:30.

Price: £1 per person

Running – dates to be confirmed

Want to get into running but don’t want to do it alone? The Running Network at the Eastbourne campus runs weekly at various places in the town. Organised by Liam Ellis and Laura Seaman, keep in the loop about the next sessions by joining their Facebook group.

Brighton

Bouldering – Wednesday, 14 January

SPORT1

Bouldering sessions are held every Wednesday between 14:00 and 17:00 at Boulder Brighton. Perhaps bouldering is something you could try for 2015?

Price: £2 per person (includes shoe hire)

Badminton – Wednesday 14 and Friday 16 January

Badminton sessions are held every Wednesday at the Cockroft Sports Centre (except 28 Jan, 4 Feb and 18 Feb due to exams) and every Friday at Falmer Sports Centre. Anyone can come along.

Price: £1 per person
