Student Advice Service – Money Matters

News from the Student Advice Service at the University of Brighton

Welcome to Money Week 2022

The theme for this year’s national campaign is ‘Sustainable Spending’ which is being adopted by hundreds of universities, funding authorities and associated stakeholders throughout the UK #nsmw22.

Between Monday 21st – Friday 25th February we will be posting daily blogs to help you budget more sustainably, challenging you to keep a money diary monitoring all your spend for a whole week and you might see us gate crash one of your lectures during the week to tell you about how we can support you and share a few top money saving tips.

We’ll be covering cooking and shopping on a budget, how to transform fast fashion habits into more sustainable ones, helping you with cheaper travel options and how to save on your utilities/prepare for the energy price cap changes coming in April.

We’re also joining forces with the Brighton Students’ Union to get your thoughts on how your budget is going at the moment and we’re asking you for some suggestions on how we can improve our money advice here at Brighton, so look out for their February ‘Question of the Month’ feature.
