Important deadline for this year’s Student Finance and University of Brighton Bursary

Most students are coming to the end of the academic year, and there are deadlines approaching which might affect your funding.

If you think you haven’t got the right amount of funding for the current academic year, then you will need to make sure Student Finance have received all your information and evidence by the 30th of May, in order for you to be reassessed for the current year.  If you don’t get your evidence to them by that date, then it’s most likely too late to be considered for any more money.

If you think you should be getting more loan, then email Student Advice, and we can discuss this with you, and tell you what you have to do –but you need to act quickly.

If you think you should be entitled to a University of Brighton bursary but have not heard anything about this and have not received one, then you should also contact the Bursaries team as a matter of urgency to discuss whether or not you are likely to be eligible.  Please do this as soon as possible and certainly by 11th June as you might have to provide evidence.

If you are an EU student and want to apply for the EU bursary for the current 20/21 academic year, then you must do this urgently too – as you must get your information in to the Student Finance EU team by 11th June.  They will expect you to submit an EU20B form signed by your parents, and to include your parents’ evidence of income from the tax office. For parents living in most EU countries, this will be from the 1 January to 31 December 2018 (or April 18 to April 19 if they live in the UK), and you don’t have to have it translated into English.  You still have time, but you must act straight away to get all the evidence together and sent in on time.  The Student Advice Service can give you this form, so please get in touch with us if you need this.

We don’t want you to miss out, so act today to make sure you get all the money you are due.

If in doubt, check it out!
