Tip 4 of the 12 Tips of Christmas

For some, this lockdown experience has taught us that maybe we don’t need so much ‘stuff’ – clothes, trinkets, shoes, jewellery, accessories, homewares, equipment.

For today’s suggestion, we have a double whammy – 2 tips in one!

On the fourth day of 12 Tips, the Student Advice team offers you:

If you need to generate a cash injection, have a good sort out and check to see if you can raise a bit of money for any of your unwanted ‘stuff’. You may feel better off for it psychologically as well as financially, as it can enhance balance and productivity if the feng shui is right.

Try sites like Ebay, Gum Tree, Facebook Marketplace, Music Magpie – but please be vigilant when engaging with potential buyers and check all the online advice.

Anything you can’t sell – have a (socially distanced) clothes swap with your friends to refresh your wardrobe without having to hit the shops in the January sales. If you’ve access to a clothes rail, you could even do this outside…..weather permitting!

Happy swapping and selling!
