Missed the deadline for applying for student finance? What happens now?

The official deadline for applying for student finance for September 2020 has now passed, but don’t panic if you missed it. You can still act now and avoid stressful delays at the start of the academic year.

New students need to register an account to apply online for your funding whereas continuing students can just log in to their existing account.

Applications take roughly 6 weeks to be processed, as long as you have completed the online form correctly. If your application will be based on your parent/s income, they need to complete an online application as well and this will probably be in addition to your application. The 2 forms are then matched up and the magic happens.

If you are still unsure about your plans for September or you’re waiting for Clearing, that is perfectly understandable. If this applies to you, we advise you to start the application process as you can make changes later down the line. You can even cancel your application at the last minute if you decide uni isn’t for you at this time.

If you have got any questions about your funding or the application process, please email us in the first instance as we can probably answer most of your questions or send you any forms or information you might need.
