Staying in Brighton over Christmas? Find out what festive activities are happening locally….

If you’re looking for some activities to join in with over the festive season, we want to give you some suggestions of free (or cheap) activities you can get involved with:

  1. International Student Christmas Lunch (everyone is welcome)

When? Thursday 20th December  1.00pm-4.00pm

Where? The Hub at Varley Park

What’s occurring? Subsidised meal, Secret Santa, Christmas tunes, traditional Christmas games

How do I book? Via the online uni shop before Thursday 13th December

NB If you are estranged from your family or a Care Leaver, we can cover the cost of your meal, so please tell us by Wednesday 12th December

2. Christmas Open Day at the Brighton Dome

When? Saturday 8th December 11.00am – 4.00pm

Where? Founders room and café, Brighton Dome

What’s occurring? Family friendly festive fun. Click here for more info

No need to book and it is free to take part

3. Snowman exhibition at Brighton Museum

When? Exhibition runs until 6th January

Where? Brighton museum

What’s occurring? An exhibition of the original illustration of the Snowman book and associated artwork curated by Michael Morpugo

No need to book, but you do need proof of being a Brighton resident to get in for £free

4. University carol service 

When? Wednesday December 12th 5.00pm – 6.00pm

Where? St Laurence church, Falmer

What’s occurring? Carols, readings and refreshments. UoB choir joins forces with Brighton Youth Orchestra

No need to book, just turn up with a strong voice

5. Christmas variety concert

When? Saturday 22nd December 4.00pm

Where? St Laurence church, Falmer

What’s occurring? Festive concert and refreshments

No need to book and free, but donations invited

6. Festive events in the Brighton area

When? Throughout December

Where? In and around Brighton

The Student Advice Service is open for business up until 4.30pm on 21st December (except 18th December when we are closed for a training event)
