There are opportunities coming up within the university conference team, both positions paying above the national living wage and ideal to fill a student’s long summer vacation. There are 4 vacancies in total. CLOSING DATE 24th April

Vacancy 1 (2 posts): Summer Residential Coordinator in Brighton & Eastbourne

We are looking for two full-time summer residential coordinators to be based on our Eastbourne campus and our Varley Park campus throughout the busy period in the summer.

The role involves offering a support and liaison service to external clients hiring the university facilities and also to University staff involved in the delivery of our services to customers. The post holder will be the main point of contact for our customers and will need to resolve problems, liaise with University service providers and ensure guests enjoy their stay.  Applicants should have the ability to work independently, be well organised, have good communication, excellent customer care and administration skills and a knowledge of the University’s sites to be able to respond to the customer’s needs. This is a live out position.

Experience in customer service is essential and within hotels/tourism/hospitality industry would be an advantage.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone wanting to work in the tourism industry or to gain valuable experience within a professional environment.

Both positions would start from 12th June 2017 for a minimum of 6 to 12 weeks period dependent on the level of business on site.

 SALARY: GRADE 3 – Approx. £9.20 per hour

 HOURS: approx. 37 hours per week will include evenings and weekends as and when required.

Vacancy 2 (2 posts): Front of House Receptionist/Reservations coordinator Phoenix Brewery Halls of Residence, Brighton

During the summer vacation, Southcoast Holidays operates a budget ‘pop-up’ hotel at our Phoenix Brewery Halls of Residence to individuals who are wanting to stay in Brighton for either leisure or business trips. We are looking for two full-time receptionist/reservations coordinators to be based in the front office at Phoenix Brewery Halls throughout the summer.

The role will be the first point of contact for our summer individual and group guests, dealing with their day to day queries relating to their stay, such as reservation queries, customer complaints, and maintenance issues with bedrooms. As well as processing and administrating new bookings and telephone queries and payments. Applicants should have the ability to work independently, be well organised, flexible, have good communication, customer care and excellent administration skills and a knowledge of the University’s site to be able to respond to the customer’s needs.

Experience in customer services is essential and experience within the hotel industry would be an advantage.

This is excellent experience for anyone wanting to work in the tourism industry or to gain valuable experience within a professional environment.

Start/End date: 12th June ending approx. 21st September 2017

 SALARY: GRADE 3 – Approx. £9.20 per hour,

 HOURS: approx. 37 hours per week on a shift bases, to include evenings and weekends.
