If you are experiencing money problems, and you’re worried how your funds are going to last until your next instalment of student finance, you may be eligible for the Student Support Fund:
http://www.brighton.ac.uk/current-students/my-finances/hardship-funding/index.aspx The Student Advice Service manages the fund, it is awarded to students in most financial need eg students with childcare costs, students with high travel costs or health problems and final year students. However, every application is considered on it’s own merits. If you are in receipt of full funding and/or a university bursary it is unlikely that you would qualify unless you have unusual circumstances. If you think you might be eligible and you want to be assessed before Christmas, you should apply before Friday 5th December.
You can continue to submit applications until the university closes on Wednesday 24th December and the final deadline for this academic year is Friday 26th June.

The university is closed from 25th December – 5th January
