Thank you for your interest in working for the Student Recruitment and Outreach (SRO) team.
The SRO team at the University of Brighton is part of the Marketing & Communications department, and is made up of a number of smaller teams, who each manage different aspects
of our outreach (with schools and colleges) and recruitment (with prospective students) work.
The SRO team employ students in two ways and you are welcome to apply for both:
SRO Student Helpers (also known as Open Days helpers) are invited to work for us on a more ad-hoc, occasional basis, supporting Open Days and other large events, such as Clearing. There is no interview process for this role – if you’re interested, register your details, and you will be contacted if and when shifts are available. You will need to provide identification documents and attend training for individual shifts as and when you are asked to work. This role is paid £9.51 per hour. For more information about the SRO Student Helper role, click here.
SRO Student Ambassadors are recruited to support our recruitment and outreach work on a more ongoing basis – including, for example activities in local schools and colleges, supporting at UCAS fairs, delivering online content, as well as Open Days. This role has a competitive application/interview process and professional level expectations, but if you are offered the job is totally flexible – you apply for the shifts that interest you and fit around your other commitments. This role is paid £10.43 per hour. For more information about the SRO Student Ambassador role, click here.
Please note – we are just one department and other teams around the university may also employ students – you could also look at the advice on the Careers team pages, ask in your school (academic department) office, or at the Students Union.
