Board member – Konstantinos Georgiadis 

Konstantinos Georgiadis graduated from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2011 with a Civil Engineering Degree MEng. He subsequently completed his MSc in Steel Design and Business Management at Imperial College London.

He started his professional career in 2013, gaining some experience in the railway industry with Bouygues (Colas Rail). He joined AECOM in 2014 as a Bridge Engineer, working in the structures team. In 2016 he was awarded a scholarship from Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) to pursue a PhD in Bridge Design at Imperial College, London. Konstantinos completed his PhD in 2020 and rejoined AECOM as a Senior Bridge Engineer. Most of his experience is focused on the design and assessment of bridges. He has a strong technical background, having performed advanced linear and non-linear, static and dynamic analyses and he is a competent user of various Finite Element Analysis software.

Konstantinos joined the IAB in 2021 aiming to support students and to help ‘bridge’ the gap between industry and academia.
