Where can a degree in Product Design take you? For many of our graduates, it’s the first step toward exciting careers in innovation, creativity, and problem-solving.
In this blog post, we celebrate just some of our amazing alumni who have turned their passion for design into real-world success!
Max Male, designer at IndustryofUs and creator of Snapkit

I’m an explorative maker and designer. My work is about fun, learning, and making, with a strong focus on sharing it with others. I’m also really interested in the psychology behind how we interact with objects and the hidden stories those objects tell.”
Max graduated in 2023 and, for his final project, created SnapKit — a sustainable and innovative toy that allows users to build inventions using cardboard, a hole punch, and connectors.
Collaborating with the Design Museum, Max led multiple workshops, including the Ventura Programme, where he showcased his work and shared prototyping tips with students. He also organized family activities for National Play Day.
Since then, he has launched an online shop and grown SnapKit into a successful business, winning prestigious awards like the Creative Conscience Gold Award and Game Changer Award at the Plus X Innovation Awards. Max recently joined IndustryofUs as a designer, where his expertise in design and prototyping helps bring concepts to life, facilitate real-world testing, and drive successful design decisions.
Kyle Withey, product design intern at Sustainable Design Studio

The connections you can make through lecturers are invaluable. The job opportunities as well, they go above and beyond to try and help us get them.”
Passionate about 3D design, Kyle developed a Filament Maker in his final year—a device that transforms plastic bottles into 3D printing filament. His innovative project won first prize at the Santander University of Brighton Ideas Competition, enabling him to launch his own company, Formu.
After graduating, Kyle joined Batch.Works as an industrial designer, contributing to projects for major brands like Samsung. He now works at Sustainable Design Studio, where he refined and redesigned the Filament Maker which has now been officially launched, furthering his commitment to sustainable innovation.
