Based in Engineering Dept within the School of ATE. Open to ATE Students and Relevant Societies.
The concept is “Thrills to Theory”. Yes, there is a lot of fun to be had with simulators. The “gamification” of software – and the world in general- has ensured that more data is required to ensure realism.. underlying that exploration and experimentation is the extraction of that DATA. We are able to compare real world scenarios within the safety of a lab situation.
We have a variety of simulators specialising in Aeronautical and Automotive subjects. Each Simulator is hot-swappable. Simply changing the controls allows us to test a multitude of projects from aircraft dynamics, automotive telemetry even “rocket science”.
A Student can build and design aircraft, view the results of its performance in real time, share the data on a spreadsheet and even test their design on one of our 6DOF Motion platforms, actually FEEL if the weight balance is incorrect.
Automotive students gather data from driving a BMW around SPA. Comparing tyre pressures and Weight balances for example.
The SimSuite offers a “relaxed” approach to the learning experience. It has proved incredibly popular with student societies.
