A second ‘Training for Peer Observation of Teaching‘ workshop took place on the 16th June 2016, with practitioners from a variety of backgrounds attending.
Those attending provided qualitative and quantitative feedback; a selection of the former are shown below.
“It was useful to look at different types of feedback which are appropriate for age/experience of learners.”
“Good coverage of the theory behind new models”
“Excellent small group work”
“I was really nervous about this; as the time went on I got more confident and gained more understanding”
Also shown below is a figure with the collated quantitative feedback scores, rated on a Likert Scale, for the sessions delivered during the day.
The Feedback and Debriefing in Simulation module was successfully delivered for the third time from 23rd – 25th May 2016.
Quantitative and qualitative feedback from the students was extremely positive, matching the overwhelmingly positive feedback from previous iterations of the module in 2014 and 2015. A figure showing the responses (scored on a Likert scale) is shown below, along with some quotes from some of the students.

The ‘Use of Simulated Patients in Healthcare Education‘ Workshop took place on the 17th May 2016, with a large number practitioners from a variety of backgrounds attending. Becky Simpson, Managing Director of Playout Communications and Presentation Training Company, assisted in a well received day of learning.
Those attending provided qualitative and quantitative feedback; a selection of the former are shown below.
“Really helpful tips on how best to approach simulation and how to make it beneficial for individual learners”
“The emphasis on the benefits of using simulated patients, for example, addressing the multi-level learning ambitions of learners was excellent”
“Really useful to gain understanding of how the OSCE process works with training of simulated patients and how to keep this consistent and reliable”

Due to the success of the last one day workshop about how to use SPs in teaching & assessment, we will running the same workshop in the Autumn (bursaries are available!)
