QAPL Placement

Quality Assurance in Placement Learning (QAPL) is a placement opportunity for students on health sciences courses. Students develop their leadership, management and communication skills in relation to practice learning and quality assurance, through collaboration with academics and professional colleagues on research projects.

With the Schwartz Rounds team, our QAPL students join steering group meetings, attend Rounds, produce promotional materials and evaluate feedback. Scroll down to see some of the work that our students on a Schwartz Round QAPL placement have produced:

In the Spring of 2024, Abbie and Jade created posters and social media content to promote Rounds to their peers, and also undertook thematic analysis of our evaluation data.

Over the summer of 2023, Millie and Thulani produced a promotional film for our Schwartz Rounds, in which they interviewed students about their experiences of attending Rounds and sharing stories.

Alyssa and Freya were the first QAPL students to join us for Schwartz Rounds. They asked students about their social media use, and how they prefer to receive information. They used the results of a survey to inform a decision to use instagram as a promotional tool, and designed posters and leaflets for the project.
