Undergrad Courses
Undergrad students on Psychology, Psychology and Criminology, Psychology and Sociology and Psychology with Counselling Studies courses at the University of Brighton will use the HSS Lab spaces and equipment throughout their degrees within seminars, research participation, at Lab events and for their final year dissertation research.
The HSS Lab offers students the opportunity to gain experience in using research grade Psychological equipment, such as eye-trackers and physiological measures equipment, as well as the opportunity to develop their final year research project to incorporate the equipment into their own research. The Lab provides regular opportunities for students to try out and ask questions about the equipment, with equipment demonstrations and equipment based activities being incorporated within seminar sessions & lecture content.
The Lab is run by the Senior Technicians within the School of Humanities and Social Science (Andrea Lobley & Grace Milsom) who are dedicated Psychology Technicians. The Senior Technicians support Psychology students throughout their degrees by running training sessions & workshops, as well as 1:1 and small group sessions to support students with individual questions.

Postgrad Students (Masters & PhD)
Masters students (Community Psychology MA & Social Science MRes) and PhD students within the School of Humanities and Social Science have access to a wide range of support from the Lab, including support with using online survey building and recruitment platforms, as well as support with using the Lab equipment for both quantitative and qualitative research.
The Lab also runs workshop sessions for students on the Community Psychology Masters course, as well as equipment-based events and talks for PhD students within the School of Humanities and Social Science.
Postgraduate students can also book in 1:1 & group meetings with the Lab to enquire about how the Lab can support them with their research.
