Trainee PE teachers run orienteering festival

On 10 February pupils from Peacehaven Community School took part in an orienteering festival run by PGCE and School Direct trainee PE teachers at the School of Sport and Service Management in Eastbourne. The Year 10s learning objectives and outcomes from the event were in line with the GCSE Orienteering assessment criteria;

Over 100 pupils from East Sussex secondary schools attended a widening participation event run by PGCE and School Direct PE trainee teachers at the School of Sport and Service Management in Eastbourne.

Inclusive Sports Festival 2014

On 16 September, 130 children with additional learning needs from seven schools in East Sussex attended the Inclusive Sports Festival at the School of Sport and Service Management in Eastbourne. The day included activities such as Boccia, parachute games, sitting volleyball, goalball, dance and new age kurling.

Easter Challenge Camp

Children from primary schools in Brighton and Eastbourne took part in the University of Brighton’s Easter Challenge Camp in from 14-17 April at the School of Sport and Service Management in Eastbourne. TARGET Dance: Bodies in Motion

Undergraduate and postgraduate students from the School of Sport and Service Management have been working with 19 schools from our local network and the university widening participation network to create dances to perform on the largest public stage in Eastbourne; the Congress Theatre.
