1 – Oceans Apart Research Project

A sea-themed arts research project which explores creative connections for children aged 4-9 years who are accompanied by an adult.

Oceans Apart is the Research Project which formed part of Sara Todd’s MA in Inclusive Arts Practice. The art made and the experience of making it informed her Final presentation and a creative response shown at the University of Brighton MA exhibition.  Against a backdrop of restrictions and separation brought into our lives by the Coronavirus pandemic, Sara’s research looks into what connects us; providing a space where participants can be themselves and experiment. Oceans are the ultimate connector of islands however ‘splendidly isolated’. The project connects a range of artforms: music, craft, art and poetry. Sara documented sessions through photography and audio recordings. She uses some of her findings in her current work with children.
