The SAP team at Brighton Business School were awarded SAP Next-Gen Chapter status and recognised as a centre of excellence for SAP teaching in September 2018.  Our team of academics travelled to the SAP Academic Conference EMEA in Munich to collect the award.

We were particularly commended for our use of a gamified approach to SAP learning using an ERP simulation game, developed by HEC Montreal.  ERPSim enables speedy learning of ERP concepts and brings fun into the SAP classroom.

As part of the new SAP Next-Gen Chapter initiative, we are one of 61 in EMEA and 114 chapters worldwide.

SAP Chapters EMEA 2018
Proud to be part of the SAP Next-Gen Chapter community

At the conference we updated our technical knowledge, developed teaching strategies and networked with new and established SAP academics at universities in Europe, the Middle East & Africa (EMEA) and we look forward to the new collaborations.

Our role as an SAP Next-Gen Chapter for ERPSim and simulation/gamification of learning will be to promote and share good practice and to support colleagues experimenting with such approaches.

Brighton Business School joined the SAP University Alliances Programme in 2008 and we have taught SAP to over 1000 students.

Laurence - train the trainer ERPSim
Laurence Olver, ERPSim Lead, training the trainers – colleagues Asher Rospigliosi and Chitharanjandas Chinnapaka

In preparation for the upcoming competition in December, our ERPSim Lead, Laurence Olver, organised a ‘Train the Trainer’ session to update colleagues on S/4HANA and the new Fiori interface for 2018/19.

We will be running a series of ERPSim workshops for first-year Business students in November and December using the latest version of ERPSim with Fiori so students will be able to access SAP training using the new tiled user-friendly interface.  Let the fun begin!

Laurence Olver is our ERPSim Lead and has headed up the introduction of SAP into our undergraduate curriculum.

Clare Millington is our Lighthouse Network and SAP Chapter Lead looking after external links and relations.
