Networking….. a survival guide – Stuart Hedley
For all but a small subset of confident extroverts networking can be seen as an awkward, uncomfortable activity. However, in order to develop, disseminate, and further research to make a real difference there is a clear need for researchers to interact and collaborate with others beyond their immediate spheres. To do so requires meeting people from other disciplines, departments, institutions and sectors.
As the knowledge exchange manager for Art & Media, Humanities & Social Science and Education Stuart Hedley attends a wide range of networking events with a diversity of participants on behalf of our University.
For the SAM R&KE week Stuart would like you to join him for a short session to share practical hints, tips, advice and approaches to networking so you will feel better equipped to attend events in the future and get the most out of the opportunities that arise by doing so.
