Event: Phil Tyler’s work included in Exhibition Gender Stories | Brighton Museum 31 January 2026 to 12 April 2026

Gender Stories is a compelling exhibition that brings together diverse objects and artworks from Brighton & Hove Museums, Bristol Museums, and National Museums Liverpool.  This includes a work held in the Brighton & Hove collection by School of Art and Media Lecturer Phil Tyler.

The exhibition aims to combine community stories with insights from gender theory and  highlights both the joys and struggles of gender identity. It sensitively begins to examine the fluid, multifaceted world of gender across cultures, eras, and personal experiences and throws questions on: What is gender? How do we experience it? Who defines it? And, what could it’s future look like?
