Themed Events: Image, Place, Event – A panel discussion | Thursday 18 April 5-6pm – M2 Grand Parade
This forms part of the philosophical themed Research and Knowledge Exchange events to foster and grow our research culture and environment and to identify research strands which are key to our school ethos and future development.
This event is a panel discussion with Fine Art subject group staff -Zoe Childerley, Matthew Cornford, Fergus Heron and Naomi Salaman. All use photography as a significant part of their wider practice based research, concentrating upon the depiction of specific kinds of places that range from the real and imagined, across and within local, national and international geographies, locations and sites. The approaches in their working processes realise photographic work in different forms, from the pages of the book to the print in series and installation for the gallery. Through discussion, the panel seek to address how photography in each of their work involves different processes and invites different kinds of spectatorship to reimagine relations with common themes of image, memory and place.
