Event: Matthew Cornford Art School Project – A Spanner in the Works: Artists’ interventions in collections and archives | 22 February 2024 – Norwich University of the Arts
A Spanner in the Works: Artists’ interventions in collections and archives is an upcoming symposium in Norwich. This half-day event will bring together artists, curators, and other practitioners to discuss counter-hegemonic interventions in collections and archives. The symposium aims to explore the history of artists and curators working with museum collections to produce alternative readings, and how these interventions have become integrated into contemporary curatorial practice. Dr. Mark Wilsher, an artist, educator, and curator, has organized the event, which will feature talks, discussions, and performances from six speakers. Taking place in the Research space at Bank Plain, with step-free entry and accessible facilities, this symposium provides an opportunity for artists, curators, art historians, and practitioners from across the UK to engage in a thoughtful and meaningful conversation.
