INVITE: Have your say on the policy paper “Good food for all!”

Berlin’s Food Policy Council [Ernährungsrat Berlin] currently develops in an intense process the policy paper Good food for all! The paper is intended as the basis for further discussions of the Food Policy Council Berlin wit the City’s political decision makers as well as for the City’s wider political discourse.

Please do join in a discussion on Thursday 29^th August from 5.30 pm where the paper draft will be presented and discussed with food activists and external experts. Aim is to get feedback on the draft and to identify any gaps or mistakes in the draft. Please register for this event by sending a short email to Katrin who will then liaise you with the Ernährungsrat.

The Ernährungsrat’s invitation in German:

Der Ernährungsrat Berlin entwickelt gerade in einem intensiven Prozess ein Grundsatzpapier „Gutes Essen für alle!“. Wir setzen uns dafür ein, jedem Menschen Zugang zu „Gutem Essen“ – also einer nahrhaften, ökologisch und fair produzierten sowie kulturell angemessenen Grundversorgung – zu ermöglichen ohne dabei hier oder anderswo Mensch und Umwelt zu schädigen. Das ist nicht einfach, wie auch aktuelle Diskurse in Berlin immer wieder verdeutlichen. Sicher gibt es nicht DIE eine Lösung, doch wir wollen uns trotzdem an eine gemeinsame Positionierung wagen, Fragen und ggf. auch Forderungen stellen. Denn unser Anspruch ist ein „zukunftsfähiges“ Ernährungssystem – und zukunftsfähig können unserer Ansicht nach nur Ernährungssysteme sein, die auch sozial und global gerecht sind. Das Grundsatzpapier soll unter anderem die Grundlage für unsere Gespräche mit politischen Entscheidungsträger*innen sein, aber auch für den breiteren stadtpolitischen Diskurs.

Um das Grundsatzpapier weiterzuentwickeln, möchten wir gerne zu einer fachlichen Diskussionsrunde am 29. August ab 17:30 einladen, um den Entwurf unseres Grundsatzpapiers vorzustellen und gemeinsam mit Aktiven und externen Expert*innen zu diskutieren. Wir möchten gerne Feedback zu unserem Entwurf bekommen, es können und sollen Positionen und Forderungen ergänzt werden sowie Lücken oder Fehler aufgedeckt werden. 

The Ernährungsrat Berlin campaigns for sustainable food, nutrition and agriculture politics in the Berlin region. It is an open movement without formal membership. Everybody with a passion to sustainably transform the urban food system in the city and region of Berlin is invited to participate.

Katrin Bohn is a co-initiator of the Ernährungsrat Berlin. This grassroots initiative was initiated in 2014 by six sustainable food enthusiasts, including Katrin, via the AG Stadt & Ernährung and officially launched in 2016.
