Today I went to attend an induction class for workshop training
surprisingly I was with my professional practice lecturer who was also keen for the workshop induction class.
we were being trained separately with different lathe machines
on that day I learned about working of lathe machine and safety feature in the lathe machine and how to work and how not to use a lathe machine. and I was also able to use the emergency stop that was in the bottom of the lathe machine.
I was been given a task of making a tool with different diameter and it also needed to be threaded to fit a screw.
firstly I started with facing different diameter for the tool, after that I removed the cutting tool and I was setting up a drilling tool
and I made a drill hole to desired measurement and removed the drilling tools swell and started with the threading tool and slowly started making thread in the inner diameter of the tools after repeated threading I was able to attain the desired output from the tool.
there was another drill to be made in the centre of larger diameter side so to find the centre and drill the cylinder part we moved on to the milling machine, I used the off centre tool on milling machine to find the centre for the part. after that I removed the tool and attached the drilling tool and started drilling in the centre and completed the part and attained the desired surface finish and outcome.
with the help of the workshop instructor I even engraved my name on the tool.
