Qualitative Research
This module is for Level 7 PG students that wish to learn more about the theory and methodology involved in qualitative research methods, as well as gain practical skills in conducting their own qualitative research.

Content
The module is delivered by active researchers, using contemporary examples, it critically explores the philosophical and theoretical underpinnings of qualitative research knowledge, its methodologies and methods, as well as the ethico-political issues involved. Practical issues of design and methods, data and analysis, together with evaluation of the quality, value and use of qualitative research are also critically debated and discussed.
Entry Requirements
Normal entry requirements for postgraduate taught provision or an ability to study at Masters level. So, applicants for NAM 13 must possess a bachelor degree or equivalent in a relevant subject.
Assessments
A 3,000 word assignment that requires students to select an aspect of qualitative research covered in the module or in negotiation with the module leader and critically explore, debate and discuss in relation to the relevant philosophies, politics and practices.
