This module is open to all disciplines including:
- Healthcare clinicians, managers, researchers, educators and policymakers
- Healthcare estates, procurement and support roles
- People from sustainability, waste, design, materials or other related sectors with an interest in sustainable healthcare

Content
- Relevance of planetary health and the Sustainable Development Goals to healthcare systems
- Climate justice, human rights and ethical issues related to planetary health and sustainable healthcare
- Sustainable procurement of healthcare supplies
- Principles of sustainable clinical practice: prevention, patient empowerment and self-care, lean systems and low carbon alternatives
- Energy use in healthcare
- Circular economy and waste management in healthcare
- Specific considerations for sustainable healthcare: infection prevention, pharmaceuticals and specialist areas of practice
- Sustainability and quality improvement in healthcare using the SusQI framework
Entry Requirements
Level 6 entry criteria:
Diploma of Higher Education/Higher National Diploma/Foundation Degree (or equivalent award) or evidence of an ability to study at Level 6 (BSc Level)
Level 7 entry criteria:
BSc degree (or equivalent award) or evidence of an ability to study at Level 7 (Masters Level)
** Normal entry requirements for international students apply
