Nurses and allied healthcare professionals working in acute care and primary care who regularly assess patients with primary respiratory disorders.

Content
The module covers respiratory anatomy and physiology, respiratory assessment and history taking, ABGs, pulmonary rehabilitation, spirometry theory, NIV simulation, and respiratory pharmacology. Conditions covered are asthma, COPD, lung cancer, infective lung disease, bronchiectasis and ILD.
Entry Requirements
Applicants should be working in the UK as a healthcare professional for a minimum of 2 days per week, working in a clinical area with support available from a designated mentor. Applicants at level 7 would normally possess a bachelor degree or equivalent or have evidence of the ability to study at postgraduate level
Assessment
3,000-word case study (100%), and completion of six skills in practice (pass/refer).
