Physical Assessment of Cardiac and Respiratory Systems
This module is for nurses and allied healthcare professionals working in acute care and primary care who regularly assess patients with primary respiratory disorders.

Content
The module covers cardiac and respiratory assessment and history taking, and respiratory failure. Conditions covered are asthma, COPD, infective lung disease, ILD, valvular heart disease, heart failure, endocarditis/ pericarditis, cardiomyopathy, and congenital heart disease.
Entry Requirements
Applicants should be working in the UK as a healthcare professional for a minimum of 2 days per week, working in a clinical area with support available from a designated mentor. Applicants at level 7 would normally possess a bachelor degree or equivalent or have evidence of the ability to study at postgraduate level
Assessments
2,500-word case study (50%), OSCE demonstrating and cardiorespiratory assessment (50%), and completion of two cardiorespiratory assessment skills in practice (pass/refer).
