NA7223 Leading a Service Improvement Project (LSIP)
This module is suitable for nurses and allied health care professionals who want to improve their leadership skills through the development of a Service Improvement Project.
Module Information
This module enables learners to develop a service improvement project through critical examination and reflection on an aspect for improvement within their workplace. Learners will develop skills for effective and efficient quality care and initiatives for service delivery through the application of change and leadership theories. Learners will be supported to develop their creative and strategic thinking to enhance service users experience and to build on their existing skills and knowledge to meet the leadership standards for Advanced Practice

Content
The module incorporates topics that are relevant to leading a Service Improvement Project. Topics covered include authentic leadership styles, writing a business case, service improvement and change models, service analysis, service evaluation and sustainability within service improvement.
Entry requirements
Learners will either be graduates or demonstrate evidence of ability to study at level 7. Learners must be registered health professionals with a UK Professional Regulatory Body, normally have at least 3 years post-registration experience and be in practice for a minimum of 15 hours per week (30 hours minimum for apprentices).
Assessments
There are two options of assessment
Option 1
8,000-word written assignment (85%) and a 1,500-word business plan (15%)
Both components must be passed to pass the module
Option 2
60-minute presentation (85%) and a 1,500-word business plan (15%)
Both components must be passed to pass the module
