Advancing Competency in Specialism, through Work Based Learning

This module is for Allied Health Professionals (AHP’s) working in advanced or specialist clinical practice, who are on an MSc clinical pathway.

Content

Advanced or specialised AHPs will align with an advanced practice clinical framework or curriculum e.g (RCEM, RCGP, ESC, FICM). They will deliver educational achievement of two advanced or specialist competencies which are assessed via work- based learning, supervision and a presentation.  

Entry Requirements

  • Previous degree or evidence of ability to study at Level 7.
  • Healthcare professional currently registered with a professional, statutory and regulatory body and 3 years post registration experience.
  • Working in an area of clinical practice normally a minimum of 15 hrs a week (minimum 30hrs apprenticeship)

Assessment s

  • Competency in clinical practice, assessed via skills book/work based portfolio (Pass/Refer) 
  • Oral presentation (100%)
