Acute Coronary Syndromes
This module is for nurses, paramedics and allied healthcare professionals working in acute care who regularly work with patients with acute coronary syndromes.

Content
Pathophysiology of coronary artery disease · Physical assessment and clinical assessment including ECG criteria, serum cardiac markers and arterial blood gas analysis · Emergency interventions, risk stratification, pharmacological and interventional approaches · Secondary interventions, investigations and pharmacological management · Rehabilitation of ACS patients · Psychosocial aspects of patient/family education and support · Discussion of the role of professional networks and health care professionals in provision of cardiac services and cardiac rehabilitation · National and international guidelines and current evidence-based practice
Entry Requirements
Applicants should be working in the UK as a healthcare professional for a minimum of 2 days per week, in an appropriate clinical area with support available from a designated mentor.
Applicants at level 7 would normally possess a bachelor degree or equivalent or have evidence of the ability to study at postgraduate level
