Quality Improvement Proposal

This module is for Healthcare Professionals undertaking the BSc (Hons) Professional Practice and BSc (Hons) Clinical Practice. 

Module Information

This module aims to enable the student to plan and develop a quality improvement project in a complex practice context and to utilise quality improvement methodology to develop a project plan.  The module forms part of the honours route of the BSc (Hons) Professional Practice and BSc (Hons) Clinical Practice degree courses.

Mind mapping and process mapping techniques

Quality improvement strategies for sustainable change in practice

Sustainable resourcing of change actions in healthcare (e.g. financial, environmental, social)

Quality improvement proposal development and methodologies (e.g. SusQI Framework, SQUIRE, Clinical Audit)

Ethical and legal aspects of quality improvement e.g. liability, negligence

Service user and family/carer perspectives on their involvement in quality improvement

Research and study skills for level 6 study, including digital literacy skills

Human factors principles within quality improvement

Entry Requirements

Applicants will have normally undertaken the NA6133 module (or equivalent) and 60 credits of other course modules before commencing on NA6169.

Assessments

A detailed and thorough written report of a proposed quality improvement project (4500 words)
