Goals

One of the additional #EdublogsClub prompts is describing my short-term and long-term goals. I think I may have done this prompt but I don’t remember doing it. Today is my last week of my current temporary contract with CCCU. I’m feeling a little down as I’ve made some good friends in Canterbury and it’s started feeling like a place I want to stick around but I’ve also been invited to attend four exciting job interviews next week. Four! And I’ve been accepted on to More Pathways to FE so I’ll have a week placement next month.

Sanity during the holidays

One of the additional #EdublogsClub prompts is writing about using audio/podcasts. It feels like a good time to share this wellbeing video from Gala Darling. I tried to embed the video but it’s not showing on my browser. I’m not sure why.

I’m going to vlog next year, I promise. I’d love to share thoughts about wellbeing but it feels a bit odd to do right now when I am struggling with a lot of holiday worry.

Alternative career

One of the additional #EdublogsClub prompts is what What could have been an alternative career for you? I’ve been thinking about this question a lot. I don’t think I even have a career, so an alternative career seems like pondering what I’d do if I won the lottery (FYI, I’d buy this and split the rest between loved ones).

The truth is that changes and challenges keep me stimulated, however I need security. In my experience, change and security have been mutually exclusive.

Overchannel

I’m dedicating December to completing additional #EduBlogsClub challenges. Because I was disappointed the original challenge only had forty prompts (including the catch-up weeks). There are ten prompts for me to choose from but I’m picking travel dreams because I’m feeling the get away blues.

Even though I’m more of a cultural city traveller, the thought of going somewhere near the equator is playing on my mind a lot lately. Though, in all honesty, when the weather gets warmer I’m hoping to head to Lille. It has all the things I love in a city.
