Turner Contemporary: Entangled

In the Easter holidays i went to Magate with my family to go the the Turner Contemporary. The exhibition was entanged:

‘Entangled: Threads & Making is a major exhibition of sculpture, installation, tapestry, textiles and jewellery from the early 20^th century to the present day. It features over 40 international female artists who expand the possibilities of embroidery, weaving, sewing and wood carving, often incorporating unexpected materials such as plants, clothing, hair and bird quills.’

I really enjoyed this exhibition, my favoutie peice was by artist Aiko Tezuka and was called Loosening Fabric. It compormised a large rug that has been unstitched so that all of the fibres were still intact and the threads all joined together. I found it amaing how much thread can go into one rug.

And the lift was cool too!
