On Thursday June 1st, a garden party was held at Pangdean Old Barn, on the outskirts of Brighton, to raise funds for The Malagiri School. It was a wonderful occasion and more than £1,800 was raised in support of the school and its pupils.
We are absolutely delighted to report that the repairs and refurbishments to the school are now complete. Following the earthquake, we provided large tents (erected in the playground) to ensure that essential activities could be sustained whilst the building work took place. The School of Education recently visited the School for Malagiri for the first time since a series of earthquakes and aftershocks devastated the country just over a year ago.
It is with great sadness that we announce that our dear friend and colleague, Kevin Fossey, passed away peacefully this morning (16th June). We should like to extend our deepest sympathy to Kevin’s family and friends at this difficult time.
