We’ve been focusing on the flatplan this one. However only me and Josie on Tuesday so we had to plan almost everything ourself. There are lots of ideas we want to do however because lack of member in our group we cant finish all of them. I had to create a powerpoint for those whose not coming to class nearly the past 1 month that we need them to support some pages for the flatplan. However only Pearl and Lauren did and the 2 other ones didn’t even reply in our group chat.

I feel frustrated but no surpirse at the same time. I had to make a flatplan in Indesign and print some of the pages out so we can stick them on the board together. flatlan plan

In general I feel like we have brainstorm ideas to cover 72 pages at this stage, we still have 2 photoshoot to do and we also work with some illustration/graphic design student so they can have their works print in our magazine. Josie had created a google form with lots of question since last week and we received many interesting responses so we want to use those words in our graphic/typography.

On Thursday we received some feedback from Chris and Mark and also from students. There are too many photos that the model look straight to the camera that Chris told me, therefore we should think of the photo selection again and try to focus on styling in the other photoshoot

In this week we have some ideas and we are talking about music and fashion, there are lots of topic related about music and fashion that we can write about. After discussion we talk about the fan culture especially fangirl, how the society misunderstood them and always label them with bad adjectives such as annoying, crazy, wasting time and money, etc. We’re deciding the colour theme can be blue, gray and pink.

This week we look at the graphic and the branding for the magazine. Chris showed us lots of cool example for logo such as Vogue, V and also showed us very bad logos.

We come up with a simple board for our magazine however I need to research more and do more meticulous board. We made our colour scheme which are navy blue, bright pink, blue and light grey, and design a simple logo based on a CD, we also look at the football ticket and merchs that we can desgin something based on that. We want to talk about how the media’s perception about fangirl? How they being treated unequally compare to man who have big passion about football or other things. Therefore, we want to do something a bit funny,

On Thursday we have Styling workshop. We should have more than 1 photoshoot so we just chose the style the shoot that most represent our theme. Some key elements are football shirt, leg warmer, kitten heels…. we try to incorporate the feminine into the sport clothes.

We also mention about the actual photoshoot we want to do might be in the football stadium the place that I know is Falmer Sport, we can have some male/females models therefore we need to prepare the moodboard, styling and posing very detail.

For the styling workshop today, our group kinda know the idea of how we gonna style the shoot, we also play around with effect and editing. I think it kinda cool, however it a bit vibrant for our overall vibe, therefore we need to plan it with our graphic design
