Introduction to LM216: Initial Ideas

Initially, when we had our first lecture and we were all shown previous students work and told to research professional photographers work, abstract photography really stood out to me.

I am really intrigued by the way that abstract art is understood differently by each person who views it, wether it be a photograph or a painting.

I have always been interested in nature and macro photography so i wanted to see if i could combine abstract photography with nature and close up shots.

whilst researching photographers, i came across Owen Graham and Migel Ribiero who inspired me to come up with my theme for my project:

The Phenomenon of the natural world

These photographers made me create a link between the beauty of the organic shape and movement between nature and the human body, which inspired me to document these, through an abstract lens by using close up photography with subdued lighting to emphasise the beauty of this connection.
